What a great week! I dialed down my ClassPass classes this week, because I was ramping up some activities in other areas and really didn’t want to overdo it.
In Seawheeze news, I got two really decent runs in this week with no serious issues. Better than my last run.
I also had a ski trip yesterday that I really didn’t want to be tired for. Unfortunately I think I may have “skier’s thumb” from a fall on my first run (arg!), so not sure what my workouts will look like this week until I see a doctor. I did try half an hour of yoga tonight without incident, so it looks like I’ve still got full body active options on the table.
Diet has been excellent, since I started a Whole30 last Sunday! I have such a love/hate relationship with the Whole30. It’s tough, but I always feel so great and see such amazing results!
Now for what I wore this week. As always, click on the thumbnail to better see the outfit and read more details!
I absolutely love spinning at The Monster Cycle, and always feel like such a beast in their classes. So, I went camo crazy last Sunday. Lululemon crazy, too. Except for the Louis Garneau shoes, everything else was Lululemon: clip in crops, clip in tank, energy bra, bang buster headband and socks. Couldn’t be comfier while sweating my face off.
Purple pants. What more could you want?! Love these Wunder Under crops from Lululemon. On top I wore a Run Swiftly tank from Lululemon, a VS Sport bra, Lululemon socks and Mizuno Wave Inspire 10’s – my favorite running shoes. Great outfit for a run and some yoga.
Restorative yoga outfit is all about comfort. Since the studio gets chilly in the winter, especially if you get a spot by a window, I usually wear long layers. All Lululemon here – a radiant long sleeve top, wunder under pants and after savasana socks – LOVE these things. I wear them a lot as an outer layer to and from class, but they’re really great for this yoga class when I need something warmer and want my feet covered.
I desperately needed to do laundry, so pulled whatever was clean from my closet. Some Nike crops, and Adidas running shirt and Thorlo socks. Unfortunately the crops are a little big and I don’t wear them often, so those got washed and went in the giveaway pile. More room for Lululemon pants I suppose 😉
Had to get up at 5:30AM to row, so needed something fun to motivate me. My awesome galaxy pants, plus a great purple Lululemon tank, Lululemon Ta Ta Tamer, and Nike free’s. I felt colorful and awesome on the erg!
This day was rough. I did NOT want to work out, and had a lot I needed to do in the gym. So, I put on my favorite crops – Lululemon run inspires, with an inspirational tank from Old Navy, with a Lululemon Ta Ta Tamer and Thorlo socks. Pictured are Nike trainers, but there was a last minute substitution to the Mizuno Wave Inspire 10’s, as I had to get a run in (along with the already programmed burpees, yoga and stretching I had planned). In the end, I felt great after a big sweat, and couldn’t have picked a better outfit to get me out the door!
In my quest to track more metrics about my fitness journey, I decided to take a look at WHERE I’m working out, not just when/how long/at what intensity/etc. This is only tracking the classes I’ve taken through ClassPass, and not any other studio or home/run activities, but it’s still cool to look at. I’ve created a chloropleth map (the darker colors indicate where I’ve taken more classes, the lighter colors indicate where I’ve taken fewer classes) of my ClassPass activities below – click the link to see the map! Class locations are mapped by census block and tract, and I’ve labeled each tract (which in my case indicate individual studios) with the number of times I’ve visited that studio. I didn’t realize how spread out the studios were, until I started looking at this map, and can barely see all of the locations at once. I took a look at some distances, and it turns out I’m traveling an average of 26.5 miles per week to class! That’s more than a marathon! I’ve traveled a grand total of 345 miles so far, which is about the distance from NYC to Richmond, Virginia! And, it’s an average of 7.5 miles per class. Thank goodness for the subway! I’m excited to add on to this map, especially in new cities using my ClassPass Flex! How far you do commute to workout?
Another week, another outfit lineup! After a bunch of really tough workouts last week, and a snowstorm this week, I decided to take a few days off. Boy did my body need it. When I went back to my first class after a few days of rest and gentle yoga, I felt amazing! I actually thought my rowing class was pretty easy – the wheel felt so light! But after class, I heard multiple people talking about how hard the class was! What a confidence boost, and total confirmation that my body needs rest in order to grow and perform. Speaking of boosting performance, I started my third Whole30 today! Each Whole30 is different, and I’m excited to see what this one brings!
Anyway, back to the fashion 😉 To see a full shot, details and other notes about each outfit, click on the image!
For my Sunday spin class, I was feeling strong and dark, perfect for spinning at The Monster Cycle. Lululemon Run Inspire crops, Lululemon clip in tank (SO great – I was skeptical of the tie-it-up-for-class-let-it-fly-for-cool-down concept but it WORKS and it is so great), Lululemon manifesto print energy bra, Lululemon socks, Louis Garneau cycling shoes. I absolutely love these shoes, and am so glad I have my own. I would definitely recommend shopping around for a pair of cycling shoes that fit you well if you’re into spin/cycling. Totally worth the money.
Love this outfit. The camo on the pants is sort of subtle, but still noticeable. Lululemon High Times pants, Lululemon manifesto print energy bra, great, super soft and ORANGE Adidas t-shirt, Lululemon socks and Mizuno Wave Inspire 10’s. Absolutely love these running shoes and have them in a couple colors.
Yoga at home day, so wearing some pieces that are a little more revealing 😉 Beautiful yoga tank from Target (that I think needs to be retired – too big 😥 ) and some Nike Dri-fit short shorts. I really like wearing shorts like this for yoga at home. Not quite to the point where I’m willing to wear these in a class yet!
Super cold outside run requires…a lot of layers. Under Armour tank as a base layer, followed by a Lululemon jacket that is a laughable length, but I purchased precisely for days like this – it completely covers my bum and keeps the backside warm!!, and finished with a great outer layer from Target. This jacket is incredibly warm and does a GREAT job of keeping out the wind. Got it on clearance a few years ago and couldn’t be happier with it. On the bottom I wore another really fantastic piece from Target – a pair of brushed leggings. These suckers are the warmest leggings I’ve ever had. Added bonus, the colored detail matches my coat! Lululemon Ta Ta Tamer bra, socks and running gloves, a Target ear warmer and Mizuno Wave Inspire 10’s. The wind chill was around 15 and I was plenty warm in this getup.
Hip hop Thursdays at my favorite rowing studio are incredible, so I needed a great outfit, of course! I love these Victoria’s Secret Sport crops – the strips are fun and they have some neat ruching around the waistband and at the calves. Also wearing my favorite (and now discontinued) VS Sport bra. From Lululemon I’ve got my beloved socks, a short sleeve run swiftly shirt and a headband – gotta have the headband for the super sweaty workouts! Nike trainers – some of the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever owned.
Saturday morning row! I love these classes – they’re usually full of people and energy! I love to bust out my glow in the dark items for these Saturday classes, and these crazy glow in the dark print crops from Victoria’s Secret Sport are perfect. So fun! Also wore a VS Sport bra and headband, Lululemon socks and an old, plain black t-shirt from Target. Nike Frees on the feet. Love those shoes. When I bought them, the cashier exclaimed, “Oh man, these are DOPE!”. Agreed, friend. Agreed.
This week I started posting my workout outfits on Instagram, and they seemed to be a hit. So I thought, why not do a quick roundup of the week’s outfits here. I think this would be a good place to leave some notes and feedback on some of the pieces I wear, too – click on the outfit image to get more details about what I wore! Do you enjoy seeing galleries like this?
Galaxy pants from Energie, Lululemon Energy bra, cheap t-shirt that’s gonig in the donate pile – the sleeves restrict my arm movements too much, Lululemon socks and Nike Free’s
I’m always on the lookout for glow in the dark gear, now that I’m taking so many spin and row classes that incorporate black/low lights. I freaked out when Victoria’s Secret’s sport line came out with several items in this fun overall kaleidescope print, including glow in the dark details on this sports bra! It also happens to be one of my favorite sports bras of all time. Good support and makes me feel very “secure”. Since I wanted to show off the glow in the dark back, I wore a tank from VS Sport with a mesh back, and some bright purple Lululemon wunder under crops. Lululemon socks and Nike trainers to wrap things up.
I. Love. This. Tank. Exquisite tank from Lululemon. Beautiful strappy details and a mesh back keep you looking and feeling cool. However, my favorite part is that this tank offers nice support without an additional bra for those who are a little “bustier”. Nice coverage on the sides of the chest, too, where larger busted ladies sometimes experience some spillage. HIGHLY recommended top for low impact activities. Love the dark purple color with some green/blue/purple space dye leggings from Target. What is with the fitness fashion industry’s obsession with space dye right now? It’s everywhere, and I’m over it. Except for these pants, of course 😉 Lululemon socks and Nike Frees on the feet.
